Introduction
If a user’s account was created with the wrong email address, you don’t need to delete or recreate their account. You can simply update the email address in Hiro.
When you change a user’s email address, Hiro automatically resets their login details. The welcome email is not re-sent, but that’s okay — when the user next signs in, Hiro will send a new six-digit verification code directly to the updated email address so they can verify ownership and set a new password.
What Happens When You Change the Email Address
When you update a user’s Work Email:
-
Hiro resets their login credentials.
-
The next time they visit app.ourhiro.io, they’ll log in with the new email address.
-
Hiro sends a six-digit verification code to that new address.
-
They enter the code, set a new password, and log in as normal.
💡 The welcome email is not resent, but it’s not required. The six-digit code process replaces it.
When you confirm the change, you’ll see a message reminding you that the user’s password will reset:
⚠️ Email address changed
Changing the user’s email address will also reset their Hiro account password.
Make sure to let them know their login details have changed to avoid locking them out.
