Introduction
In Hiro, you can attach files to existing timesheets to keep all related documentation in one place. This can be useful for tracking supporting documents such as:
-
Invoices or receipts for disbursements recorded in a timesheet
-
Approval notes or supporting notes for billable hours
-
Photos or other proof of work related to a specific timesheet entry
How to Attach Files to a Timesheet
You can attach files to a timesheet in two ways:
-
Using the Upload Icon
-
Locate the timesheet entry.
-
Click the up arrow icon in the upper right corner (available after saving the timesheet).
-
Select one or more files to attach.
-
-
Drag and Drop
-
Locate the timesheet entry.
-
Drag one or more files from your computer and drop them onto the timesheet.
-
Once a file has been attached, a paperclip icon will appear on the left side of the timesheet, indicating that attachments are present.
Viewing and Managing Attachments
To view and manage attachments:
-
Click the paperclip icon next to the timesheet.
-
A Timesheet Attachments popup will appear, listing all attached files.
-
Next to each file, you will find:
-
Edit (pencil) icon – Rename the file (default name is the original filename upon upload).
-
Delete (X) icon – Remove the file from the timesheet.
-
Who Can Attach Files?
You can attach files to your own timesheets. If you have write access to someone else's timesheets, you can also add documents to their timesheets. Similarly, if you only have read access, you'll get a read-only view of those attached documents. For more details on access permissions, see Read or Write Other People's Timesheets.
File Size Limits
Each uploaded file can be up to 100MB, with a total maximum upload limit of 5GB in one go. This means you can upload approximately 50 files of 100MB each at once, or more smaller-sized files.
Deleting Timesheets and Attachments
If a timesheet is deleted, any associated files that have been uploaded are also deleted and unrecoverable.
