Introduction
When recording timesheets for an enquiry or job, there are a couple of built in ways to categorise the nature of the time spent. You can log your time against a subtask within the project's work schedule or record it as "Enquiries & Tenders" time.

Activities provide an additional, optional layer of categorisation on top of these basics. They are a predefined list of time types that stay consistent across all projects, and can be enabled if your organisation needs more detailed reporting.
Activities are available only in specific cases:
Activities can only be assigned to time based timesheets. They are not available for disbursement or mileage timesheets.
Activities can only be selected on project timesheets (enquiries or jobs). They are not available on Job 0, as Job 0 already has its own non chargeable work type system for categorising time.
Enable Activities
If you are a Hiro Global Administrator, follow these steps to enable the Activities feature of Timesheets:
Open the Settings module and go to Timesheet Data Entry Options.
-
Under the Activity section, choose whether activities are optional or mandatory.
Click Save.
Customise the Activities List
Hiro includes a default list of activities that staff can select when entering timesheets. If you are a Hiro Global Administrator, you can tailor this list to suit your organisation:
In the Settings module, go to Timesheet Work Types.
Click New work type
For Work type kind, select Activity time.
Enter a description. This is what staff will see in the dropdown when entering timesheets.
Click Save.
Existing activities can be edited using the pencil icon. If no timesheets have been attached to an activity, it can be deleted using the X icon.
To filter the table down to just activities, use the Kind dropdown and select Activity time.
Record Timesheets with Activity
To record a timesheet with an activity:
Start by entering a project (either an enquiry or a job).
Select the relevant work schedule item or choose Enquiries and Tenders.
For time based project timesheets, the Activity dropdown will appear so you can choose the appropriate activity.
Remember:
The Activity dropdown will not appear for disbursement or mileage entries.
The Activity dropdown will not appear on Job 0 timesheets, as Job 0 already uses its own non chargeable work types.
