Before getting started with integrating Hiro with your existing instance of Xero, you may like to explore how the two platforms integrate with one another in a way that does not affect your existing production financial data. This may be because you're wanting to try out a sample project in Hiro, or otherwise aren't quite yet ready to start loading production data from Hiro into Xero.
The great news is that you can integrate Hiro with a free trial organisation for Xero that does not affect your production financial data. More information is available on Xero Central here about how to setup a trial organisation, however in general the steps are:
- Log into Xero as you ordinarily would using the Xero credentials you usually use for your business.
- In the top left corner of the blue navigation bar in Xero, if you see the name of your organisation, click on the button, then click on My Xero at the bottom of the dropdown menu that appears.
- You should now be located on the My Xero page, which will list the names of the organisations you have setup with Xero. Underneath the list of companies, click the Try the Demo Company (AU) link.
- You will now be taken to a trial copy of Xero that is pre-populated with sample data. You can now continue linking Hiro to Xero using these instructions. However, make sure to select "Demo Company" as the company you wish to connect Hiro to (step 5 in the Link Hiro to Xero article).
Ready to connect your production Xero data?
If you have previously connected the Xero Demo Company to Hiro but are now ready to connect your production copy of Xero:
- Navigate to Settings
- Click on the Connect to Xero button
- Click the blue Disconnect from Xero button.
- On the Are you sure? prompt, click Yes to confirm disconnecting the Xero Demo Company.
- Re-connect Hiro to Xero with your production Xero account using these instructions.
